In Your childhood You must have bring a magnet in front of your old CRT TV, and when you took the magnet, you would be happy to see the colorful patterns in the TV. but guys have you ever thought that Why the color of old CRT Tv distort when we bring a magnet near it and why the color of LED or LCD Tv's not distort in front of magnet or can a magnet permanently damage your CRT TV.

Guys you must have noticed that the TV which used to be in your house earlier, was a lot more wider and thick from back than today's TV. And they were not ordinary TV but Legend CRT Television i.e. Cathode Ray Tubes TV in which they produce images on the TV screen with the help of electrons. And this electron is the biggest reason of colors distortion due to magnets in old TVs.

A Cathode Ray Tube Television contains three electron guns Red green Blue and which we call RGB.

These electron guns are not shot guns that you equip in PUBG, they only hit the electrons on the TV screen, due to which the Phosphor starts to glow.

This phosphor is nothing but a chemical which emits light means that when the electrons from the electron gun hit the phosphor, the phosphor starts to glow And it shows a specific color on the screen.

And when a lot of electrons hit the TV screens in many places, because of that many Phosphors glows and we have a full image shown.

But when we take a magnet near the screen of the TV, then the magnetic field emitted from that magnet attracts electrons which are fired from Cathode Ray Tube Due to which the electrons would change their path and those electrons would hit some other place of the TV screen, causing the color of the TV to Distort.

And that's why we get to see lines in TV and the colors of TV would have been distort. These magnets can also cause permanent damage to your TV.

magnet harms only CRT Tv but not led or lcd  .Why? This is because LED and LCD TVs produce any image not with the help of electrons but with the help of Liquid crystal display. so the magnet would never makes any effect on your LED or LCD Television.
