How Airbag works

Airbag is a nylon bag which opens rapidly in a car accident to reduce external injuries like it protect the driver and the passengers from the shattered glass and protect the head from being struck on the dashboard of the car.

When a car meets an accident the crash sensor in the car detects that collision had been occurred and crash sensor sends the electrical signal to the canister which contains a chemical called sodium azide . 

Electrical signal ignite the sodium azide and decompose it . 

Due to decomposition reaction nitrogen gas is produced and it inflates and expands the airbag very rapidly only in just 0.03 Seconds.

A handful of sodium azide (130g sodium azide) can produce 67 litres of nitrogen which is enough to inflates or expands a large airbag.

How an Airbag can be dangerous for you / Why you should never put your feet on car's dashboard

Airbags are located in steering wheel and car dashboard. In a moving vehicle/car if you put your feet on car's dashboard and car meets any small accident then the airbag will deploy and it opens very quickly which is enough to break your leg and it may also be fatal for humans or any animals. Airbag can fracture your leg permanently. 

Speed of Suzuki Hayabusa is 320 kmph but you will be surprised after knowing that airbag's deployment speed is 350 kmph now you can just imagine how much force an Airbag can generate and it may be fatal also
